ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS
WHAT WE SELL
Apothecary & Herbal Goods
Made in small-batches with attention to detail from start to finish, we use our own home-grown herbs and carefully wild-foraged plants, as well as organic ingredients (choosing local whenever possible). Our products do not contain any sulphates, parabens, artificial colours or fragrances so that you can be assured they are completely skin-safe for you! We try our best to minimize waste during production as well as packaging, just as we do in our own homestead.
Vintage, Local & Homemade
We also source items with a passion for the well-made and long-lasting. In our shop you will find a variety of vintage goods, goods that are handmade here on the Slow Simple Sunday homestead and other items sourced directly from small makers. We encourage conscious consumerism rather than convenient consumerism by emphasizing ethics, good stewardship, and working with our hands. From apothecary to art.
WHAT IS STEWARDHSHIP?
- 1.the job of supervising or taking care of something, such as an organization or property
WHY GOOD STEWARDHSHIP MATTERS
We believe that we are called to be good stewards of our bodies and of creation. As shown in Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 2:15, it is our job to take care of God's creation while we are on this earth. Our care for the earth is rooted not in fear, but a deep love for God and His Good Creation. In a world that pushes more convenience and more consumerism, we believe instead it's time to get back to the roots of well-made and long-lasting goods. Buying less, but choosing well, and bringing only items into our homes that are useful and beautiful.
WHY WE SELL
Our vintage selection is carefully curated. Vintage pieces are typically made with high quality materials such as linen and 100% cotton rather than our cheap and unsustainable material choices of today, such as polyester.
Vintage pieces can last a lifetime and are well worth the investment. Buying secondhand is one of the most sustainable choices in our consumerist world today. Instead of sending these clothes to pollute more landfills, they are given a second chance at life.
