Spring Digestive Tea

A tea to warm the belly and kick sluggish digestion from a long lingering winter into gear.

2 cups of clean filtered water
½ inch fresh ginger or more
½ star anise
2-3 cloves
2-3 peppercorns
½ tsp cinnamon powder ( or half a stick)

Bring water to a boil – add coarsely chopped ginger. Crush anise, cloves and peppercorns gently to release aromatics – add to water. Reduce to low heat and simmer for about 10 min or longer.

Good to sip on with a meal or after meals.

If you have a chest or head cold as ½ tsp cumin seeds to the tea.

Finish with honey.
